Selecting modes of operation

In order to adapt the machine to user requirements, the
modes of operation can be changed at any time.( see
chapter 6.1)
Call up the function menu
Select functions from F1 to F13
Activate the function
Choose the settings of the function
Start the function (e.g. Zero run – calibration
run)

Balancing a wheel

5.1

Clamp the wheel

Select and secure the correct clamping means to
the machine. Secure the wheel by choosing the cor-
rect cone or centering means and tighten the correct
clamp.
Make sure that the surface of the mid centering device
and the rim are clean.
Choose the right cone for the mid center hole of the rim
and place it on the shaft.
Place the wheel on the shaft as far as possible to the left
side and hold with the hand. Place the quick nut on the
shaft and tighten the wheel properly.

Select program

Pressing the ALU button 2 different modes can be se-
lected.
Mode STANDARD 12h (Factory setting)
There are wheel balancing programs available. The
choice of these programs is conditioned by the geome-
try of the rim and the position of the weight placement.
Placement of the weights is ALWAYS done in the 12
o´clock position .
In Mode Standard the area where the gauge arm needs
to be placed for reading the data is shown with a blin-
king LED (18).
The various balancing programs can be selected by
pressing the ALU button. The program chosen is displa-
yed with the LED in the pictorial of the rim.
Mode POS
In Mode POS the balancing programs are detected
automatically depending on where the gauge arm is
placed on the rim. The automatic selected program
can be corrected from ALU 2 to ALU 3 and vice versa by
pushing the ALU button.
Only the most common balancing programs A (Steel
rims), D (ALU 2) und E (ALU 3) are available. The activati-
on of Mode POS is shown by LED POS (22).
Placing the clip on wheel weights is done in the 12
o´clock position, placing adhesive wheel weights is AL-
WAYS done by using the gauge arm.
