The optoCONTROL 120x is based on the principle of light quantity measurement. The light from a red laser
diode is fanned out by an optical system to form a parallel light curtain which is aligned to the receiver unit.
In the receiver unit the light is passed via various filters and optical components through a precision aperture
onto a light sensitive detector. The quantity of the incident light is processed by an analog electronic system
and output as an analog signal.

3.2
The optoCONTROL 120x consists of a light source and a receiver unit. The complete control electronics is in-
side the receiver and no additional controller is necessary. The receiver and the light source can be mounted
at various distances and the 90° version allows installation in tight spaces.
In addition the analog output, an adjustable limit switch is included. It can be wired as NPN logic (active if
light quantity above limit) as well as PNP logic (active if light quantity below limit).
