MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

Caution! – All maintenance work on this system must be carried out
by qualified technical personnel, in full compliance with the safety
standards provided for by the laws in force and the safety instruc-
tions specified in STEP 1 - "General safety precautions and warn-
ings", found at the beginning of this manual.
Note – If the system features other devices which are not mentioned in
this manual, please see the respective maintenance schedules for the
instructions to follow.
Assuming the automation in question is put to normal household use, we
recommend a regular system check-up every 6 months; if the automa-
tion is put to particularly frequent use, or the leaf moves at high speeds,
the check-up should be carried out upon completion of a certain cycle
of manoeuvres.
To calculate this number of manoeuvres, please refer to the estimated
durability parameter (see "Product's technical characteristics"); the main-
tenance must be carried out every time 10% of total number of the
manoeuvre cycles set for this parameter is reached; for example, if the
total durability is 100,000 manoeuvre cycles, the work must be carried out
every 10,000 cycles.
The following checks and replacements must be performed at the inter-
vals scheduled for maintenance:
A. Disconnect all electric power sources (including buffer batteries).
B. Check all the equipment comprising the automation for wear and
tear; then check the moving parts to asses their degree of wear, look-
ing out for any erosion or oxidation on structural parts too; if neces-
sary, replace the parts which do not offer sufficient guarantees.
C. Make sure the product is securely anchored to the fastening sur-
face and that the fastening nuts are well tightened.
D. Check the manual manoeuvre release mechanism is in good-
working order; the force required to operate the release mechanism
must not exceed 220 N.
E. Reconnect the electric power sources and carry out the following
checks in the order in which they are given:
1 Using the transmitter, perform a few trial door opening and closing
manoeuvres, making sure the leaf moves as envisaged.
It is worthwhile running a series of tests in order to evaluate the
smoothness of the door's motion and to check for assembly flaws, mis-
adjustment, and the presence of any friction points.
2 Check, one by one, that all the safety devices featured in the system
(photocells, sensitive edges, etc.) work properly. Photocells: set off the
device during an opening or closing manoeuvre and check that the
control unit stops the manoeuvre and reverses the movement com-
pletely (the lamp flashes twice, stops, and then repeats the two flash-
es). Sensitive edges: set off the device during an opening or closing
manoeuvre and check that the control unit stops the manoeuvre and
reverses the movement for a short while (the lamp flashes four times,
stops, and then repeats the four flashes).
3 Check that there are no interferences between the photocells and the
other devices by proceeding as outlined below: break up the optical
axis linking the pair of photocells (fig. 56) by moving a cylinder (diame-
ter: 5 cm, length: 30 cm) in front of the TX photocell first of all, then near
the RX module, and finally between the two. Next, make sure the
device is triggered in all eventualities, by switching from the active sta-
tus to the alarm status, and back again; last of all, check that this caus-
es the action envisaged in the control unit (e.g. in the closing manoeu-
vre, it should result in inversion of movement).
4 After positioning an obstacle along the door's closing trajectory, activate a
closing manoeuvre and check that the automatism reverses the move-
ment as soon as the door touches the obstacle (safety manoeuvre).
Caution! – for the obstacle, use a 5 cm high piece of wood, posi-
tioning it as shown in fig. 57.

MAINTENANCE REGISTER

Important – Before passing this maintenance register on to the owner of
the automatism, make sure all the gaps are filled in with the information
required.
This register must contain a list of all the maintenance activities, repair work
and alterations to the automatism. The register must be updated every
time work is carried out and must be stored carefully so that it is available
for any inspections that may be required by the relative authorities.
This Maintenance Register refers to the following automation:
model: .............................,
serial n ................................,
installation date .............................,
installation location ...................................................................................
.................................................................................................................
.................................................................................................................
.................................................................................................................
.................................................................................................................
...............
The following enclosed documents are part of the Register:
1) - Maintenance schedule
2) - ............................................................................................
3) - ............................................................................................
4) - ............................................................................................
5) - ............................................................................................
6) - ............................................................................................
According to the enclosed document "Maintenance Schedule", mainte-
nance operations must be performed at the following intervals:
every ............. months, or every ............. manoeuvre cycles, depend-
ing on which event occurs first.
