6. 2 Bestimmungsgemäßer
Gebrauch
®
Das UNIDRIVE S III ARTHRO Motorensystem
ist in Verbindung mit dem dafür geeigneten
Applikationsinstrument im Anwendungsbereich
ORTHO universell einsetzbar. Den detaillier-
ten »Bestimmungsgemäßen Gebrauch« des
Applikationsinstrumentes entnimmt man der jewei-
ligen zum Applikationsinstrument zugeordneten
Gebrauchsinformation.

Das UNIDRIVE S III ARTHRO Motorensystem
darf nur mit Zubehör, Verschleißartikeln und
Einmalartikeln verwendet werden, die von
KARL STORZ für das Gerät als geeignet bezeich-
net werden.
Das UNIDRIVE ® S III ARTHRO Motorensystem
wird in Verbindung mit einem Shaver Blade oder
einer Fräse in der Arthroskopie zur Durchführung
von operativen Eingriffen unter endoskopischer
Kontrolle verwendet.
Mit dem entsprechenden Blade ist das System
besonders geeignet für kontrolliertes Schneiden,
Schälen (Shaving) und Schleifen von Knochen und
Gewebe bei arthroskopischen Eingriffen an Knie,
Schulter, Sprunggelenk, Ellbogen, Handgelenk,
Hüfte und Kiefergelenk (TMJ).
Das ergonomisch geformte, leichte Handstück
besitzt einen Saugkanal zum Anschluss an ein
Saugsystem. Über einen Kipphebel wird der
Saugkanal geöffnet bzw. geschlossen.
Mit dem Multifunktionshandstück und seinem
Zubehör (z. B. Bohr- oder Sägeaufsatz) wird

der UNIDRIVE S III ARTHRO zu einem
Multifunktionsgerät, das viele Anwendungsgebiete
in der Orthopädie abdeckt.

system on a patient, it is imperative that the
instructions in this manual are understood and are
followed carefully.

Normal use

®
The UNIDRIVE S III ARTHRO motor system
is universally applicable in conjunction with the
respective, suitable application instrument in the
ORTHO field of application. The detailed „Intended
use" of the application instrument can be found in
the instructions for use provided for the respective
application instrument.

The UNIDRIVE S III ARTHRO motor system may
only be used with accessories, wearing parts
and disposable products that are designated by
KARL STORZ as suitable for the unit.
The UNIDRIVE ® S III ARTHRO motor system is
used in conjunction with a shaver blade or burr to
perform surgical interventions under endoscopic
control in the field of arthroscopy.
With the corresponding blade, the system is
designed to provide controlled cutting, shav-
ing, and abrading of bone and tissue during
arthroscopic interventions on the knee, shoulder,
ankle, elbow, wrist, hip, and TMJ.
The ergonomically designed and lightweight hand-
piece has a suction channel for connection to a
suction system. Using a rocker lever, the suction
channel can be opened or closed.
With the multifunction handpiece and its acces-
sories, such as the drill attachment and the

saw attachment, the UNIDRIVE S III ARTHRO
becomes a multifunctional instrument that can be
used in a wide range of areas in orthopedics.
