1.0 General

1.1 Introduction

This information is provided for reading and observation in all points by the persons responsible for the feed pump. The
complete documentation should thus be kept with the machine. We recommend that you read these operating instruc-
tions carefully prior to commissioning the machine as we accept on liability for damage and interruptions caused by
your failure to observe the operating instructions as provided. We reserve the right to make changes that reflect tech-
nological advances compared to illustrations and details provided in these operating instructions without notice.
The device possesses a voltage range which can pose an electrical hazard to humans and animals. It must not be ope-
ned or dismantled except by authorised and qualified persons. Similarly, maintenance and repair work should only be
conducted by electrical specialists and authorised service centres. The buyer / user operates the device at their own risk
and under their own responsibility.

This symbol accompanies all of the important safety instructions in this manual where there is danger to life
and limb. Follow these instructions and exercise extreme caution in such cases. This symbol also indicates

2.1 Machine designation

The machine type in question is a PS 40 Compact suction and feed pump. Quoting the machine type and serial number
as indicated on the machine's type plate makes it easier for us to answer any technical queries or process your orders.

These operating instructions are valid for the following machine types:

Always refer to the "Trouble Shooter" provided with the pump as an operating aid. This forms part of the
operating manual and it must be obeyed at all times. The "Trouble Shooter" consists of a checklist, quick-
start guide, cleaning guide and "first aid" procedures that are to be followed in the event of any malfunc-
tions.
