Maintenance steps "General Maintenance Work"
These maintenance steps describe general tasks and provide instructions that you must observe for all maintenance
work.
Maintenance work may only be performed by authorised staff with specialist knowledge and experience.
Preparation
Before commencing maintenance work, you must perform the following steps:
Position the machine vertically on a flat surface.
Before you commence maintenance work, switch off the machine and secure it against unauthorised or acci-
dental restarting.
If you need to run the machine in the course of maintenance work, the maintenance steps will expressly tell you to do
so.
If a malfunction occurs during pumping, read the chapter "Malfunctions, Causes and Remedies" first. If you cannot sol-
ve the problem yourself, please contact STORCH customer service.
Before you start operating the machine, first learn the steps for disabling the machine by heart!
- Switch the machine off.
- Secure the machine against unauthorised actuation.
- Fence off the work area and display notices on the locked switches and actuators.
Maintenance steps "Visual checks"
These maintenance steps describe visual checks that you must perform before all maintenance work. The maintenance
intervals are detailed in the maintenance overview at the start of this chapter.
See also Maintenance steps "General Maintenance Work"
No special tools required.
General
The following general visual checks should be performed before all maintenance work and also always before using the
machine:
- Check if all safety equipment is in place.
- Check the machine for obvious defects.
- Check all seals and rubber parts for signs of wear and cracks; replace if necessary.
- Make sure the machine was set up as described in the chapter "Transportation, Installation and Connection".
- Check if the components are suitable and fitted correctly.
- Check if the ventilation vents on the drive are free of soiling, and remove any soiling if necessary.
NOTE: The drive bearing housing is located below the upper C-coupling up to the flange of the pump tube.
Conduct regular inspections to see whether material is escaping here. If it is, it means that the bearing
seal is worn and needs replacing. This is a result of normal wear and tear. Wear and tear will occur sooner
or later depending on the pump's load and its type of use. Make sure that the operating pressure does not
exceed 20 bar (see point 6.3 'Operating pressure').
Please contact the STORCH service department.
