2.6 Functional descriptions

The purpose of this section is to make the operator of the machine familiar with its functions and to outline its inten-
ded purpose, in order to prevent any operating errors and unnecessary wear and tear. The PS 40 Compact suction and
discharge pump is a machine that is designed for processing machinable, paste-like materials such as plaster, filler,
adhesive and basecoat mortar, bitumen and concrete bonding agent up to a maximum grain size of 3 mm. The material
is preferably processed directly from the original container. The material to be pumped is transferred to the mortar hose
via a screw pump integrated in the pump unit and this material is then pumped directly onto the coating surface. An air
compressor integrated in the machine allows the processor to spray the coating material onto the relevant surface from
the end of the mortar hose. The speed of the drive motor can be infinitely adjusted and this allows the material to be
pumped to the exact requirements of the processor. The operating pressure of the air compressor can also be adjusted
to suit the requirements of the processor via a control valve.

2.8 Control unit

The machine is controlled and operated via the control unit on the drive
motor. All the main control instruments are located here. The wiring, earth
connection and connections of the control unit comply with VDE rules.
Function selection switch ON / OFF / REVERSE
Potentiometer speed control
Function selection switch ON / OFF / REVERSE
The motor can be switched on and off using this switch and additionally
run in reverse in inching mode.
Potentiometer speed control:
You can use the potentiometer to for infinite adjustment of the drive unit
speed and thus the machine's feed volume.

2.9 Drive unit

The machine is driven by an electric motor. The drive unit's rating is speci-
fied in the chapter "Technical Specifications".
Gear lever 1st Gear / 2nd Gear
Power cable drive
Gear lever:
The drive unit has a mechanical 2 gear transmission. Depending on the
application and the feed volume required, you can set the gear lever to
Position "1" or Position "2".
NOTE: Never operate at low speed in gear II. It is better to switch to gear I
and operate at full speed.
Power cable drive:
The power cable must be plugged into the power socket "Power connection
drive" on the control unit.
