4. Safety instructions

!
WARNING
The welding machine is manufactured in accordance with the safety directives pursuant to the legislation
in force.
Prior to use it is worth taking the following indications into account:
4.1 Checking the equipment condition. Do not use it if there are obvious signs of damage or doubts as
to the condition of any of the components which could compromise the operator's safety.
4.2 Only supply the equipment with monophase voltage 230V and at a frequency of 50Hz. Only use an
earthed mains power supply system in accordance with the standard in force. Fit a protection in the
mains power supply line with 16A thermomagnetic switch.
Only use power generator sets with current output and stable frequency.
Only use power generator sets with current output and stable frequency.
4.3 In the event of power supply with a power generator set, its output will have to be greater than
5 kVA and the current generated will be high quality. Make the earthing connection if there is no
double insulation in the power generator set.
Allow the set to operate between 2 and 3 minutes to stabilise the voltage.
The power factor must be greater than 80%.
4.4 Only use extensions in the primary cable verifying that they are in good condition beforehand. The
connections with the socket must also be according to standards and in good conditions. In order to
avoid excessive voltage drops which could compromise the result of the welding cycle, use extension
cables with the following sections:
- 3 mm
to 10 m;
2
- 4 mm
to 30 m.

4.5 Verify the condition of the primary and secondary cables before starting the equipment.
4.6 Do not, for any reason, handle the equipment components. Any interventions must be authorised by
ROTHENBERGER.
4.7 The equipment must be transported in its container.Do not pull the equipment by the primary and
secondary cables. Protect the welding machine from impacts during transport, in the workshop or
on site.
4.8 Do not place any object on the equipment to prevent damage to the display and the buttons.
4.9 Do not use the equipment as a battery charger.
4.10 Do not use the equipment directly in the ditch or in damp areas.
4.11 Carry out periodic checks of the connectors, cables, etc., in order to ensure efficient energy transmission.
4.12 Given that the welding accessory generates an electromagnetic field at 50 Hz, it is essential that:
- the operator is trained and knows the irradiation problem in low frequency electromagnetic fields
- during the welding phase there is a min. distance of a 0.5 metres from the accessory
- during the welding phase any other person must keep a min. distance of one metre from the accessory
