1.2 Safety Instructions

The ergometer variobike 550/550C is to be ex-
clusively used for ergometry, heart and cir-
culatory rehabilitation under observance of
this operation manual. If the variobike 550/
550C is used improperly or for other purposes
than described, the manufacturer cannot be
held liable for any injury to persons, for dam-
age to property, or any related serious con-
sequences which may occur.

Do not expose the variobike 550/550C to di-
rect sunlight !
Do not use outdoors or in areas where there
is danger of explosion. Avoid using near to
electric power plants.

Equipment Failure
The use of mobile phones near the ergom-
eter is prohibited as they may cause interfer-
ence.
Cordless phones may however be used.
Electromagnetic interference can be recog-
nized by fluctuations of the load value dis-
played. If the display value alters uncon-
trolled, although the number or revolutions
is greater than 30 /min, this can be due to the
effect of electromagnetic interference.

: Equipment Failure
When connecting the ergometer to other
equipment, use only the special protective
cables delivered by ergoline.

accessories authorized by ergoline.

It is necessary to ensure that no dangerous
ground currents occur as a result of attach-
ing the ergometer to other devices.
Device specifications of the variobike 550/550C
are in the appendix to this manual. Direct
your questions to your dealer or to ergoline's
service department.
Especially at the coupling of several devices
to a measurement system is has to be taken
care, that proper grounding is achieved via a
single power supply, e.g. wall socket.
Warning
The ergometer variobike 550/550C may only
be operated with electrical installations
which comply with VDE 0107.
