o) Installing the tail unit linkage
• First, screw one fork head each onto the two 390 mm long linkage rods
(1).
• Then slide the rods into the fuselage from the rear through the previously
applied holes.
• Apply the rudder horns (2) in such a way that the linkage rods run as
straight as possible. The series of holes in the rudder horn must form a
line with the rotation axis of the rudder (see sketch).
• Insert the two servos (3) through the cockpit opening into the fuselage
and fix the servos into place with a bit of glue. The servo cables are
guided upwards between the two servos.
• Suspend the for heads in the rudder levers and put the rudders into
central position. Now you can mark the rods at the height of the servo
lever (4).
• Detach the rudder horns again and slide the linkage forward in the
fuselage.
• As before with the aileron control, angle the control wires at the marked
spots, guide them through the boring in the servo lever extended to 1.5
mm (5) and attach them with a safety clip (6). Afterwards, mount the
servo lever at a 90° angle to the linkage on the servo.
p) Installing the main landing gear
You should only install the wheel cover on your model airplane if you use
a solid runway (concrete or tarmac). If you plan to start and land your
plane on a grass runway, we recommend not using the wheel covers.
• First, cut out the 4 wheel covering halves and stick two halves each
together. The grove (1) with the boring for the landing gear wire (2)
must be located on the inside of the cover.
Attention!
Cut out four 8 x 10 mm pieces from the remaining material, which
are required later on for the assembly of the cabin hood.
