When using am NiMH drive battery, deactivate the undervoltage protection.
Observe the following if you want to switch on undervoltage protection anyway:
The speed controller measures the voltage of the connected rechargeable battery after activation. At a volt-
age between 9.0 and 12.0 V, the speed controller will assume that a 3-cell LiPo drive battery is connected.
At a voltage below 9.0 V, a 2-cell LiPo drive battery will be assumed.
The deactivation voltage is calculated based on this.
Example: You have connected a 6-cell NiMH drive battery to the speed controller and the undervoltage
protection is set to 2.6 V/cell.
The NiMH drive battery has a voltage of, e.g., 8.4 V when fully charged. The speed controller will assume a
2-cell LiPo drive battery and thus activate the undervoltage protection at a battery voltage of 5.2 V, which is
the optimal value for NiMH batteries.
If you were to set the undervoltage protection to a higher value (e.g. 3.4 V/cell), the speed controller would
switch off the drive too early although the NiMH drive battery would still have enough energy.
• Function #4, green LED flashes 4x short + 4x short beep: Start mode when driving off
Depending on this setting, the starting torque is more or less powerful. Note that the top setting requires using a
high-quality rechargeable battery capable of providing the necessary high current during start-up.
We recommend only using the highest level when you want to drive the vehicle on loose ground.
• Function #5, green LED flashes 1x long + 1x long beep: Maximum braking strength
The speed controller unit allows proportional braking strength depending on the setting of the transmitter lever. The
maximum available brake force can be set.
A high setting (e.g. 100%) decreases braking distance but has a negative effect on the lifetime of the drive (drive
pinion gear, main gear, differential, tyres).

c) Status Messages of the Speed Controller (LED/beep via motor)

• In the neutral position, no LED at the speed controller is lit. The motor is standing still.
• When driving forward, the red LED lights up. At full throttle, the green LED will light up additionally.
• When driving backwards, the red LED lights up.
• The red LED will remain lit when braking. When the maximum brake force is set to 100%, the green LED will also
light up at emergency braking.
• If the speed controller measures the battery voltage after activation and finds an error, the motor will emit a double
beep (with one second pause between the double beeps).
• If the speed controller does not recognise any valid signal from the receiver (e.g. if the speed controller is discon-
nected from the receiver), the motor will emit a single beep, followed by a pause of two seconds.
If the speed controller is connected to the receiver, its fail-safe will provide protection if the transmitter signal
fails. Always ensure that the fail-safe of the receiver is programmed correctly.
