10. Setup & Installation

a) Weather Station

Place the weather station on a sufficiently large, horizontal surface.
Protect valuable furniture surfaces from scratches with suitable pads.
The two buttons "SNOOZE/LIGHT" at the bottom also serve as a standing base.
Simply pressing the top of the weather station will operate the buttons.
The site of set-up should be selected so that the weather station is not close to heaters, etc.
Direct sun irradiation should be avoided as well (the weather station heats up; therefore, the
temperature measured is no longer the room temperature).
b) Outdoor Sensor
Attach the outdoor sensor in the protected outdoor area in a place that is shady all day.
Otherwise, sun irradiation will falsify the temperature measured.
The same applies of rain and snow hit the sensor for extended periods (in these cases, the
temperature sensor would not be measuring air temperature).
Never operate the outdoor sensor in or under water; it would be destroyed by this!
Due to the integrated LC display, it is a good idea to choose the site of set-up so that it can be
read, e.g. through a window.
The outdoor sensor can either be set up in a suitable position or you can use the aperture (12)
at the rear to suspend the outdoor sensor from a nail, screw or hook.
The range of the radio signal from the outdoor sensor to the weather station is up to 50 m in
a free range (at a direct line of sight between transmitter/receiver).
The range that can actually be achieved, however, is lower since there are walls,
furniture, windows or plants between the weather station and the outdoor sensor.
Proximity to electrical devices, cables or metal parts also reduces range.
