General description type PRF / PRF-EX

PRF fans are suited for all applications in which highly corrosive gases, contaminated air or other aggressive compo-
nents can be found in the waste air. Typical places of use are medical institutions, the foodstuffs, electrical or chemical
industries and also the metal industry.
The sintered housing of UV-resistant PE with its connections from ø 125 - 250 mm offers a wide range of possibilities
of use. The housing can be easily adapted by turning (standard position at LG 270). Motor protection of the PRF fans by
integrated thermo-contacts (in voltage-controllable) and posistors (in single-phase) with fi nished lines for connection
to a motor-protection switching device.

The explosion-protected fans can be used for temperature classes T1 to T4 and have been registered
for conveying explosion-capable atmosphere in Zone 1 and 2, category 2G and 3G, with the groups
IIA, IIB and IIC (only PRF-EX Ex d).
PRF-EX Ex d possess an IEC norm motor in an Ex d fi nish which can be controlled via a frequency
inverter and has an added-on terminal box in Ex e fi nish. The PRF-EX Ex e disposes a speed control-
lable IEC-standard motor with mounted terminal box. Motor protection by integrated posistors (PTC)
with connection to a U-EK230E motor protection switching device.
