12.1

Safety information

WARNING
Risk from electrical voltage!
» Troubleshooting and maintenance only by a trained electrician or trained and instructed qualifi ed per-
sonnel!
» Obey industrial protection directives in troubleshooting.
» Pay attention to the 5 rules of electrical engineering:
–
clear (all-pole separation of an electrical system from live parts),
–
secure against switching on again
–
establish freedom from voltage,
–
earth and short-circuit,
–
cover or fence off neighbouring live parts.
» Prevent penetration of water into the terminal block
WARNING
Risk by careless use of aggressive media
Careless use of aggressive media can lead to very severe injuries.
» Wear gloves suited for working with gases/vapours and all kinds of deposits.
» Wear suffi cient protective clothing and goggles.
» Pay attention to the safety data sheet of the chemical substance used.
CARE
Risk from hot surface!
» Wear protective gloves in maintenance and cleaning work.
12.2

Maintenance

As ball bearings with „lifetime lubrication" have been used, the EX fans are maintenance-free to a great extent. After
the end of the period of use for the grease, replacement of the bearings is necessary.
12.2.1 Preconditions
• The 5 rules of electrical engineering are applied.
• The area has been marked by a number of visible signs „Maintenance work".
12.2.2 Maintenance intervall
Normal strain:
Major contamination or wear:
Fan types PRF and PRF EX - 10.2013
 maintain the fans at least twice a year.
 maintain the fans at shorter intervals.
