8.4
Installation
8.4.1
Preparation
Before installation, examine the base for stability.
Transport the packed fan to his place of installation.
Remove the packaging.
With the help of the fan, set the precise positions of the set screws.
Drill the necessary fi tting holes.
When selecting the fi tting material, pay attention to the weight, vibration tendency and shearing forces (weight,
see name plate).
8.4.2
Fitting
Fit the fan securely on the base.
Check the fi rm fi r of the screws.
Use the vibration dampers (option).
8.4.3
Connect feed and water air channels
Connect feed and water air channels. Pay attention to the direction of fl ow (arrows).
If available, install the condensation opening on the bottom of the housing in order to drain the condensation off.
Set up a device for conducting and trapping the condensation
8.4.4
Install protective devices
Install fi xed protective grids and protective barriers in order to prevent access to the fan under normal operating
conditions.
8.4.5
Lightning protection device
If the risk assessment shows that there is the risk of an atmospheric discharge, lightning protection measures must
be taken. For reasons of operational safety, provide for a suitable lightning protection system according to country-
specifi c directives (e.g. DIN VDE 0185).
8.5
Electrical connection
HAZARD
Hazard of explosion of an ignition-capable gas/air atmosphere!
If the wire ends which have not been connected are fi tted to the external current circuits within the
explosion-capable area,
»
a connection box selected to match this area with its own certifi cation and explosion-protection
identifi cation must be used
»
the electrical data, information on temperature monitoring and on admissible operation with part
voltage, if applicable, can be seen from the data sheet in question.
Protection against explosions in general:
»
Always ensure potential compensation.
