Mounting

Warning!
Life-threatening danger due to electric shock: Improper wiring is life-threatening and can destroy the
electric multi-point lock 819. The connection of the power supply may only be carried out by trained, quali-
fied personnel.
Caution!
Risk of injury due to sharp edges and chippings: There is a risk of injury from sharp edges resulting from
drilling and other cutting work. Be sure to protect your eyes with suitable protective goggles. Have the
work performed by appropriately trained, qualified personnel.

Preparation for mounting

Caution!
Unsuitable doors diminish personal safety and intrusion protection: Only approved and technically
faultless doors are suitable for the mounting of the electric multi-point lock 819. Prior to the mounting of
the electric multi-point lock 819, the door must be inspected to ensure that it closes properly and is not
warped. The door must be approved for the use of the electric multi-point lock 819.
1 Finish the lock pocket in a suitable vertical mounting position in the door leaf.
2 Finish the holes for the fixing screws corresponding to the figures shown below (depending on the
selected components).Drill the holes for the lock escutcheons.
3 Clean the lock pocket and all drilled holes by blowing them out or vacuuming.

Electrical connections

4 Prepare the wiring for the electric multi-point lock 819 ("Electrical connection", page 51).
5 Connect the cable for the power supply and the control ("Flexible lead cover", page 60).
Mount the electric multi-point lock 819
1 Screw the electric multi-point lock 819 into place in the lock pocket.
2 Fasten the lock escutcheons.
3 Test the electric multi-point lock 819 for ease of movement.
 The electric multi-point lock 819 is ready for operation with the mounted striking plate.

Mounting the striking plate

4 Finish the striking plate pocket and all drilled holes ("Flexible lead cover", page 60) or finish a
customer-provided striking plate.
5 Clean the striking plate pocket and all drilled holes by blowing them out or vacuuming.
6 Screw the matching locking into place for the electric multi-point lock 819 to be installed.
7 Test the electric multi-point lock 819 for ease of movement.
 The electric multi-point lock 819 is ready for operation.
