Check for damage: Damaged cables can result in electric shock. Damage to the metal parts can cause
injury. A damaged device is a safety risk. Check the packaging and the electric multi-point lock 819 for dam-
age. A damaged device may not be commissioned. Damaged cables and connector assemblies must not
be used either.
Observe the specifications and regulations of inspection authorities: Regulations established by inspec-
tion authorities must be complied with for installation and electrical connection of the electric multi-point
lock 819. Specifications of the door manufacturer must also be observed.

Functional limitation due to faulty recess of the lock pocket: The lock pocket must be created cor-
responding to the lock pocket dimensions. You must insert the lock without using any force and screw it
into place, so that is not subject to mechanical stress.
Property damage from drilling: Drilling will damage the lock. You may only use existing holes drilled at
the factory to attach fittings. The lock must be removed if any work such as drilling or cutting is carried out
on the door leaf.
Damage from dirt: The lock is damaged by dirt. Prior to installation, the lock pocket and all holes must be
cleaned (by blowing out or vacuuming).
Functional limitation due to distorted installation: The lock must be installed free of torsion.
Functional limitation due to door handles not moving freely: The lock must be fitted in such a way that
the handle spindle and the spindle hub align.
Property damage due to violent installation of the handle pin into the follower: The door handle spin-
dle must be gently inserted into the spindle hub. No tools are needed.
Protect the door from unintended closing: The electric multi-point lock 819 locks a closed door automati-
cally and can then only be unlocked again via the profile cylinder. A construction profile cylinder must be
installed before the electric multi-point lock 819 is installed.
Danger of destruction with construction key: The use of a so-called construction key can destroy the lock.
Then the function is no longer guaranteed. Only use a suitable locking cylinder for operation of the lock
