► Particular caution should be exercised when unlocking the elbow lock while lifting heavy
loads.
Be careful when unlocking the lock under such conditions due to the possibility of injury.

CAUTION
Penetration of dirt and moisture in the prosthetic arm
Injury due to unexpected behaviour of the prosthesis system or malfunction.
► Do not let foreign particles or liquids get into the prosthetic arm.
► Do not expose the prosthetic arm, especially the elbow joint, to dripping or splashing water.
► Wear the prosthetic arm and especially the elbow joint under suitably resistant clothing in
the rain.
NOTICE
Coating, gluing or painting the prosthesis
Damage or fracture due to chemical processes.
► The prosthesis must not be coated, glued or painted.

6 Preparation for use

6.1 Settings
The control settings depend on the controller being used. For more information, see the instruc­
tions for use of the controller in question.
6.2 Assembly
6.2.1 Installing the O-rings
1) Be sure to install the outer 623F3=26x1.0 O-ring (1).
2) Insert the number of inner O-rings (2) according to the desired friction level (see fig. 1).
6.2.2 Installing the controller
See the instructions for use of the controller being used.
6.2.3 Installing the hand
1) Put on the hand (see fig. 2).
2) Firmly tighten the wrist nut against the O-ring.
7 Cleaning
NOTICE
Improper product care
Damage to the product due to the use of incorrect cleaning agents.
► Only clean the product with a damp cloth and mild soap (e.g. 453H10=1 Ottobock Der­
maClean).
1) Clean the product with a damp cloth and mild soap (e.g. Ottobock 453H10=1 Derma Clean)
when needed.
Ensure that no liquid penetrates into the system component(s).
2) Dry the product with a lint-free cloth and allow it to air dry fully.
