2 Product description

2.1 Function
The product is a myoelectrically controlled terminal device of the MyoBock prosthesis system.
On the terminal device, the thumb and fingers rotate around the same axis and carry out a spatial
movement in the process. Therefore, objects can be gripped without unnatural compensating
movements of the forearm and upper arm.
Size 5 is driven by one motor.
Sizes 5 ½, 6 and 6 ½ are driven by two motors with a multi-stage overriding gear mechanism. The
first motor opens and closes the hand at high speed and low force. The second motor is activated
in order to develop the gripping force required to pick up objects.

3 Application
3.1 Indications for use
The Electric Hand 2000 is intended exclusively for exoprosthetic fittings of the upper limbs.
3.2 Use/Field of Application
The Electric Hand 2000 can be used for unilateral or bilateral amputations, and in case of dys­
melia.
3.3 Environmental conditions
The prosthesis system was developed for everyday activities and must not be used for unusual
activities. These unusual activities include, for example, sports with excessive strain and/or
shocks to the wrist joint (pushups, downhill racing, mountain biking, ...) or extreme sports (free
climbing, paragliding, etc.). Furthermore, the prosthesis system should not be used for the oper­
ation of motor vehicles, heavy equipment (e.g. construction machines), industrial machines or
motor-driven equipment.
The product is intended exclusively for use on one patient. Use of the product by another person
is not approved by the manufacturer.
