Safety
•
Ensure that all guards are intact and properly
secured during operation
•
If the Multicutter is suspended in a pipe system it
must be secured with a wire or similar attaching
the Multicutter to the building in order to prevent
the Multicutter from loosening and falling down by
accident.
•
Always stop the Multicutter prior to repair and
maintenance and make sure that the Multicutter
cannot be started by mistake. A lockable safety
switch (Isolator) for the Multicutter must always be
mounted.
•
Never put your hand into the Multicutter inlet or
outlet during motor operation.
•
The Multicutter is designed for mounting in an
enclosed pipe system with a pipeline mounted to
both inlet and outlet of the Multicutter.
•
All electrical installations must be carried out
according to the current local legislation.
•
The Multicutter should be mounted in an accessible
location for maintenance.
•
The working area around the Multicutter should be
clear and trip free when carrying out maintenance.
•
Thick gloves should be worn when working on the
Multicutters knives to avoid cutting hands/fingers.
•
Make sure that there is adequate lighting when
working on the Multicutter.
•
In cases where is it necessary to remove material
blocking the rotation of the Multicutter knives, the
safety switch (Isolator) must always be stopped and
locked in order to prevent start up of the Multicutter.
If removal of material in the Multicutter is done
while the power is switched on, the Multicutter will
start as soon as the blocking material is removed.
This involves great risk of personal injuries!
•
Always secure pipes mounted directly on the
Multicutter inlet or outlet by using clamps with
bolts in a way that the pipes cannot be removed
without tools. Always use the special safety clamps
delivered with the Multicutter. Never use quick
release clamps on the Multicutter inlet or outlet. The
inlet and outlet are designed in a way that quick
release clamps cannot be used.
•
Pipes attached to the Multicutter inlet or outlet
must have a length of minimum 800mm with a
diameter of maximum 200mm in order to prevent
the possibility for coming in contact with the
Multicutter knives when the pipes are mounted.
Always use clamps with bolt in cases where it is
absolutely necessary to connect pipes within a
distance of 800 mm from the Multicutter. Never
use quick release clamps as the pipes must be
connected with clamps with bolt in a way that the
clamps cannot be removed without tools.
•
Remember to label the pipe with a warning not to
use quick release clamps. 2 labels are delivered
with the Multicutter and more labels can be
required by contacting Kongskilde (please inform
the following order number: 122001083). Look in
the chapter 'Installation'.
•
It is possible to purchase brake motors for the
cutter - see section "Installation".
