d) Rechargeable Battery Type

Independently of the setting of the battery type (NiMH or LiPo), the connected number of cells is determined auto-
matically. When programming "LiPo" (assuming the rechargeable battery is fully charged), the first sound sequence
signals the cell number after connection of the rechargeable battery to the flight controller (e.g. three sounds for a
3-cell LiPo rechargeable battery). When the rechargeable battery type "NiMH" is programmed, the cell number will
not be signalled.
To avoid harmful deep discharges of the battery, the motor's output is reduced matching the cell number and battery
time or the motor switched off in time by a programmed undervoltage recognition (characteristic programmable, see
item e)= "Deactivation Behaviour at Undervoltage").
The rechargeable battery type can be programmed as follows:
• Switch the transmitter on and then put the throttle lever for motor control to the full throttle position.
• Then connect the flight battery to the flight controller again.
• The flight controller will switch to programming mode after various signal sounds and start with the first program-
ming item, "Motor brake". This is indicated by a brief signal sound. Wait until you hear two brief signal sounds. Now
pull the control lever for the motor control back all the way (position "Motor off").
• The flight controller signals the setting options with an endless loop.
- One signal sound = LiPo rechargeable battery
- Two signal sounds = NiMH rechargeable battery
• To save, set the control lever for the motor control to full throttle at the desired setting.

e) Deactivation Behaviour at Undervoltage

Select how the flight controller is to react if undervoltage is recognised. Select "reduction" to reduce motor power when
the undervoltage limit is reached. Select "deactivation" to deactivate the motor completely when the undervoltage
limit is reached.
The deactivation behaviour at undervoltage can be programmed as follows:
• Switch the transmitter on and then put the throttle lever for motor control to the full throttle position.
• Then connect the flight battery to the flight controller again.
• The flight controller will switch to programming mode after various signal sounds and start with the first program-
ming item, "Motor brake". This is indicated by a brief signal sound. Wait until you hear three brief signal sounds.
Now pull the control lever for the motor control back all the way (position "Motor off").
• The flight controller signals the setting options with an endless loop.
- One signal sound = reduce power at undervoltage
- Two signal sounds = switch off motor at undervoltage
• To save, set the control lever for the motor control to full throttle at the desired setting.
If undervoltage is displayed by reducing the motor output or deactivation of the motor, the motor can be
switched on again after briefly putting the control lever to "Motor off". However, this should only be used in
exceptions (to prevent a crash), since the reactivation may deep-discharge the flight battery and damage
it.
