UNIT OPERATION

Applying the Arm Cuff

1. Firmly insert the air plug into opening located on left side of monitor unit.
2. With sticky nylon section facing outward, insert end of cuff underneath metal ring of cuff.
3. Fasten cuff about 1 to 2 cm (0.4 to 0.8') above the elbow joint (Figure A). For best results,
apply the cuff to the bare arm and hold it at heart level during measurement (Figure B).
Make sure the tube is positioned down along the artery (Figure C).
To assess that the cuff is properly wrapped around the arm, check that two fingers can pass
under the cuff (Figure D).
4. Ensure that the metal bar is well positioned within the index range as shown in the
drawings (Figures D and E).

patient discomfort due to compression.

tact with the patient's skin for a temporary
