StecaGrid Control N and
StecaGrid Control D resp. D1
(Control Unit)
The Steca Control Unit monitors how your solar energy
system operates and displays this information to the user.
Moreover, this unit also features extra safety functions such
as an integral main isolator, earth leakage switches and an
ENS function in the StecaGrid Control D resp. D1 for those
markets, wherein ENS is required or mandatary, e.g. Germa-
ny. In addition to the control unit, a cordless remote display
is also available, which can be installed anywhere in the
building. See Chapter 5 'StecaGrid Remote (Remote Display)'
for more information.

Characteristics
Easy to install
The control unit is placed at the right hand end of the batte-
ry of inverters on the DIN rail.
Safety
•
The main isolator switch is used to connect the complete
system to the mains supply or isolate the system from the
mains supply.
•
If the insulation of the system is damaged in any way (e.g.
in the unlikely event of solar panel breakage), the integral
earth leakage switch will trip and automatically turn the
system off.
•
After repairs have been made, the earth leakage switch
must be reset manually to reactivate the system.
•
The difference between the StecaGrid Control N and
StecaGrid Control D resp. D1 is the ENS function in the
StecaGrid Control D resp. D1. This ENS function prevents
the system being used for local consumption and detects
grid voltage, grid frequency and grid impedance. If incon-
sistencies are detected, the ENS facility will automatically
turn the system off. As soon as operating conditions have
returned to normal, the system is automatically turned
back on. The ENS function satisfies DIN VDE 016 resp.
DIN VDE 016-1-1.
•
Earth leakage current is also monitored. If a preset value
is exceeded, the system is turned off automatically. The
system must then be reset manually after corrective action
has been taken.
