have been sold within the European Union.
When claiming under the terms of guarantee, the customer
must be able to present a purchase invoice.
If the customer should discover a problem, he must contact
his installer or Steca Elektronik GmbH.
3. Guarantee disclaimer
The guarantee terms for Steca products described under
1 above do not apply if the defect has been caused by: (1)
specification, design, accessories or components supplied by
the customer or added to the equipment at the customer's
specific request, or specific instructions given by the cus-
tomer with regard to the way the product was produced,
connection of the Steca products to any other product that
has not been expressly approved by Steca, () modifications
or alterations made to the product by the customer, or any
other cause attributable to the customer, (3) installation or
fixing that does not meet the manufacturer's specification,
incorrect or negligent treatment, accidents, transport, over-
voltage, storage or damage by the customer or a third party,
(4) any unavoidable accident, fire, explosion, construction or
renovation work in the area where the product is installed,
or natural calamities such as earthquakes, flooding, storms
or any other cause outside Steca's control, (5) any cause that
cannot be foreseen or prevented on the basis of the manuf-
acturing methods used to produce the product, (6) if the
serial number and/or type number have been tampered with
or made illegible (7) use of the solar energy systems in any
moving objects such as boats, caravans, etc.
The guarantee terms described in this memorandum apply
exclusively to consumers who are Steca customers or to
authorised Steca resellers. The guarantee is not transferable
to third parties. The customer will not transfer any rights or
obligations derived from the guarantee in any way without
prior written permission from Steca.
Furthermore Steca rejects all liability for indirect damages or
loss of profits. With the exception of mandatory legislation,
Steca also rejects liability for damages other than those for
which it expressly accepts liability.
