8.1
Maintenance of grease separators
Monthly in-house check
By a competent expert / inspector, in accordance with DIN 4040-100:
Visual inspection of the inlet and outlet areas of the sludge trap and grease separator as well as the technical equipment
Check the grease layer thickness and sludge level
Adjust the emptying times if necessary
Annual maintenance
By a competent expert / inspector.
Arrange for the disposal to be carried out.
Check the inside of the tank.
Clean the inside of the tank (particularly the inlet and outlet spots) using a high-pressure cleaning device.
Pump out the tank again.
Use a gripper and scraper to remove objects and deposits.
Fill the separator with clean water up to the calm water level, check the pipe connections for leaks.
Carry out a functional check of the pump.
Record the maintenance in the log book.
8.2
Maintenance of the pump technology
The pump technology must be maintained by a competent skilled person.
A maintenance date can be set at the control unit.
If the maintenance date has arrived, this is indicated by a plain text message on the display.
According to standard specifications, maintenance must be carried out at the following intervals:
1/4-yearly for systems in commercial operations
1/2-yearly for systems in apartment buildings
Yearly for systems in single-family homes
Visual inspection
The system must be checked once every month by the operator through observation of two switching cycles for opera-
tional ability and leak-tightness.
8.3
Prepare maintenance
WARNING
The tank of the separator does not have to be accessed for installation or maintenance purposes.
Nonetheless, if it is necessary to access a tank for unforeseen reasons, all the safety measures for entering cham-
bers must be taken (including testing the air to ensure that it is safe, and forced (mechanical) ventilation of the tank
if necessary, safety harnesses, tripod and look-out personnel.)

The pump tank of the separator may be accessed for installation or maintenance purposes.

NOTICE
Disconnect system from energy sources!
Ensure that the electrical equipment is disconnected from the power supply during the work.
Secure the electrical equipment against being switched on again.
Remove both covers.
Pump out the contents of the grease separator and pump sump with a wet vacuum cleaner.
Clean the grease separator and pump sump with a jet cleaner, pump out again.
