Leak test
Remove the protection for the construction period.
Seal the inlet and outlet pipe of the separator by inserting a shut-off device.
Fill the tank with clean water up to the top of the upper section.
Check the tank and connections for leaking moisture.
If necessary, make the system leak tight.
After a successful leak test, fit the cover plates and lock them if necessary.

Backfill the excavations
CAUTION
Chamber installation for load class D requires a load distribution plate made of reinforced concrete.
Note the structural calculations for traffic safety.
Determine the required load class and structural calculations in accordance with the environment / use condi-
tions.
Note the relevant reinforcement plan on the KESSEL website.
Adjust the upper section to the final height. (Note the minimum insertion depth and shorten if necessary.)

Stable sublining (e.g. concrete ring)
(3)
Load distribution plate (reinforced concrete)
(4)
Polystyrene layer
(5)
Back fill material (crushed stone)
As an alternative to the structure shown in the image, the load distribution plate (3) can also be installed up to ground level.
Fill the excavations with crushed stone (0-16 mm diameter), at least 50 cm all around; place in layers of maximum 30 cm
and compact each layer of fill material properly to 97% DPr (e.g. using vibrating plate).
The required excavation pit slope angle β must be observed all the way round.
The internal friction angle φ of the backfill material and allowable excavation slope angle β must be assigned in accor-
dance with DIN 4124.
