ADJUSTMENTS FOR
MECHANICAL SELF-WINDING
MOVEMENTS
Your watch houses a mechanical
self-winding movement. Your wrist
movements thus become the key fac-
tor in rewinding your watch. When the
latter is fully wound, it has a power
reserve of between 40 and 60 hours,
depending on the model. If the watch
has stopped, wind it manually before
wearing it, by making clockwise rota-
tions of the crown (position 1).
TO USE THE FUNCTIONS OF YOUR WATCH,
KINDLY REFER TO PAGE 17.
THE DIAGRAM OF YOUR WATCH APPEARS
ON PAGE 20.

Crown in position 1 –
normal running and manual
winding
Your watch runs normally when the
crown is in position 1. Be careful to
ensure it is always pushed right back
against the case in order to guarantee
its water resistance.
Crown in position 2 –
fast date adjustment
To adjust the date, pull the crown out
to position 2 and turn it to the required
number. Then push the crown back in
to position 1. Since the date change
occurs at midnight, be careful to dis-
tinguish midnight from midday. At the
end of months with 28, 29 or 30 days,
proceed to a manual adjustment, as
indicated above.
Note: for models without a date dis-
play, time-setting is done in position 2.
Crown in position 3 –
setting the time
To set the time, pull out or unscrew the
crown to position 3 and turn it to the
desired time. When the crown is in this
position, the watch is out of operation.
This " stop seconds " device enables
you to adjust the time to the nearest
second. Then push or screw back the
crown to position 1.
REMARKS AND WARNINGS
– Some models are equipped with a
screw-lock crown. Before making
any adjustments or any manual
winding, unscrew the crown in a
counter- clockwise direction.
– After each new operation, the crown
must at all costs be pushed or
screwed (depending on the model)
right back in against the case in
order to guarantee the watch's water
resistance.
– These operations must not under
any circumstances be performed in
water, since this might damage the
movement.
– Since the mechanism is not entirely
operational between 8 pm and 2 am,
it is preferable not to make any
adjustments of the date during this
period of time.
