A first press on pusher [K] stops the
split-second hand.
A second press on pusher [K] brings
the split-second hand back in line with
the chronograph hand.
These operations may be performed
as often as required.
Flyback function
The flyback function serves to instantly
start a new timing operation even when
the chronograph is already in opera-
tion. All one need do is press the reset
pusher [N] without needing to first stop
the hands using the first pusher [M].

Countdown function
Some models are equipped with a
10-minute countdown display distin-
guishing the first minutes (blue zone)
from the five following ones (red zone).
This original display thereby serves to
help the owner keep track of the immi-
nent start of a race. The countdown
function is indissociable from that of
the chronograph function. They are
simultaneously activated.
GMT
The GMT* function indicates the time
in a second time zone by means of
the 24-hour hand [I] and the gradu-
ated numerals on the bezel or on the
dial, depending on the model. Pull the
crown out to position 2. Turn it counter-
clockwise and place the 24-hour hand
[I] on the desired time zone. Then push
the crown back in to position 1.
* GMT = Greenwich Mean Time. In 1913, it was
agreed that world time would correspond to
local time at zero degrees' longitude, according
to the reference meridian running through
Greenwich Observatory near London.
Tachometric scale
To measure the average speed of travel
over one kilometre, take a point of ref-
erence, such as a milestone, and start
the chronograph by pressing pusher
[M]. Stop the chronograph by press-
ing pusher [M] when you pass the next
milestone. You can then refer to the
figure to which the hand is pointing
on the tachometer scale [L] appearing
on the bezel or on the dial, depending
on the model.
Pulsometer
To measure your heart rate, press
pusher [M]. Count the number of heart-
beats, and when you reach 30, press
pusher [M] again. You can then refer to
the figure on the pulsometer scale [P] to
which the hand is pointing, in order to
read off the number of beats per minute.
