CHRONOMETER
CERTIFICATION
"Chronometer-certified" means that
the movement of a watch is adjusted
to within a tolerance of between
-4/+6 seconds per 24 hours, corre-
sponding to 99.99% precision. This
supreme guarantee of reliability and
precision is issued by the Swiss Official
Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC),
an independent organisation certified
by the Swiss Accreditation Service
(SAS). Mechanical movements must
satisfy a range of extremely stringent
criteria to earn this much sought-after
distinction. Each movement is indi-
vidually tested over a period of fifteen
consecutive days and nights, in five dif-
ferent positions and at three different
temperatures. For more information,

POINÇON DE GENÈVE
QUALITY HALLMARK
Representing the coat-of-arms of the
city of Geneva, the Poinçon de Genève
quality hallmark is one of the oldest
horological certifications. This set of
regulations issued in 1886 testifies to
Geneva's grand watchmaking tradition
and to the expertise patiently acquired
over generations. A reliable token of
quality, this prestigious hallmark tes-
tifies to exceptional workmanship
and stems from an authentic philoso-
phy that tolerates no compromises
on the quality of the movement com-
ponents and of the watch as a whole.
The Poinçon de Genève is a highly
demanding certification that guaran-
tees the origin, craftsmanship, quality
and exceptional expertise of mechan-
ical watches that are assembled,
adjusted and controlled in the Canton
of Geneva. It is governed by rigor-ous
c r i te r i a e nc o mpa s s ing te c hni c a l
aspects and functional characteris-
tics as well as the overall aesthetic of
a given model. These criteria include
extremely precise specifications relat-
ing to all movement components and
additional mechanisms, to the materi-
als used, to the finish, as well as to the
construction and the assembly of the
watch. For more information, please
