Handling of the Agar Strip
and the Rotor
• To insert the agar strip into the rotor first remove
the protection cap from the sampling head by
turning it counter-clockwise. Then, pull the rotor
from the magnetic flange.
• Open the protective foil that is covering the agar
strip for approximately 4 cm (Figure 1). Carefully
remove the agar strip by holding it at the sides
(Figure 2). Avoid touching the agar surface.
NOTE
• The outer side of the agar strip is facing towards
the protective foil.
• In order to avoid any contamination it is recom
mended to wear sterile gloves when handling
the agar strips.
• To minimize the risk of a potential contamina
tion avoid handling the agar strip or rotor with
your hand over the agar surface.
(continued)
• Insert the agar strip into the rotor with the agar
surface facing to the inside (Figure 3). Take care
to fully insert the agar strip.
1
• Position the rotor back to the magnetic flange
after the agar strip is completely inserted
(Figure 4).
2
• Mount the protection cap on top of the rotor by
turning it clockwise (Figure 5).
