1.1 The RCS Microbial
Air Sampling System
®
RCS Microbial Air Samplers are used for the collec-
tion of airborne bioaerosols from ambient air and
compressed gasses. Bioaerosols develop through
association between airborne particles and micro-
organisms, such as bacteria und fungi. The RCS
®
system consists of a RCS Microbial Air Sampler,
a broad portfolio of agar strips, and a range of
accessories for special applications. Thus, the RCS
Microbial Air Sampling provides a complete solution
renowned for standardized and reproducible results.
Microbial air sampler of the RCS
are specially designed for use in controlled production
areas. They consist of an easy-to-disinfect Lexan
polycarbonate housing and an autoclave-able sam-
pling head. In combination with the standardized

agar strips a RCS High Flow Microbial Air Sampler
is completely validated according to ISO 14698-1/2
Biocontamination Control. The comprehensive vali-
dation data as well as a detailed Instrument Quali-
fication Plan are available (Art. No. 1.44189.0001).
