General safety notes
2.1 Intended use
The machine CUTFIX PRO is designed for cutting flexible
round wires to length. Only the material described below
may be processed with the machine (see chapter 2.2). The
machine is intended for use in an industrial environment
and only indoors.
The machine must only be used within the technical limits
specified (see chapter 3.1).
The machine can optionally be equipped with a feeder
CUTFIX PRO FEEDER.
No alterations or modifications may be made to the ma-
chine and the feeder. The machine and the feeder may
only be operated with fully installed safety devices.
Observance of the documentation is also part of the intend-
ed use.
2.2 Material that can be processed
CUTFIX PRO
Flexible PVC wires with a cross-section of:
– flexible
0.08 – 10.0 mm² (AWG 28-8)
– solid
0.08 – 2.50 mm² (AWG 28-14)
CUTFIX PRO FEEDER
Flexible PVC wires with a cross-section of:
– flexible: Slot 1 ... 11 / 0.5–2.5 mm² (AWG 20–14)
– flexible: Slot 12 / 4.0–10.0 mm² (AWG 12–8)
2.3 Personnel
Only trained personnel may operate the machine and carry
out maintenance work. They must also have read the oper-
ating instructions in their entirety.
Repairs may only be carried out after consul-
tation with Weidmüller Service and only by a
qualified electrician.
Retrofitting of a feeder may only be carried out
by the Weidmüller Service.
Please keep the operating instructions where
they can be viewed by the operating personnel
at all times.
All documents can also be downloaded from
the Weidmüller website.
2.4 Safety equipment
The machine is equipped with the following safety features:
– Housings
– Protective covers (machine and feeder)
– Mains plug

The safety features must not be rendered inoperative.
Before each commissioning, it must be ensured that all
safety devices are functional. The safety devices must be
checked by a service technician once a year.
2.5 Safety labelling on the machine
All warning symbols on the machine must be clearly visible
at all times.
The following warning symbols are attached to the ma-
chine:

The warning symbols indicate that the machine must not
be operated without a protective cover.

The warning symbols indicate that the machine must be
switched off for maintenance and in the event of a malfunc-
tion by disconnecting the mains plug.
2.6 Emergency stop
In an emergency, the machine can be switched off by
pulling out the mains plug. In order not to endanger this
emergency stop function, the mains plug must be freely
accessible at all times.
