2 General safety notes

2.1 Intended use

The machine is designed for stripping and crimping strand-
ed wires in a single operation. The machine must only be
used to process the material described below (wires and
wire-end ferrules).
The machine must only be used within the technical limits
specified, see chapter 3.1. The machine is intended for use
in a dry, enclosed indoor space. No alterations or modifica-
tions may be made to the machine.
Observance of the documentation is also part of the in-
tended use.

2.2 Processable material and crimp shape

Reliable processing can only be guaranteed for Weidmüller
wire-end ferrules; processing of other makes may result in
malfunctions and damage to the machine.
Conductor
Flexible PVC conductors H05V-K and H07V-K with a cross-
section of 0.5 to 2.5 mm² (AWG 20 to AWG 14).
High-temperature resistant, halogen-free, or other special-
ised insulation materials for the same conductor types are
excepted.
Wire end ferrules
Weidmüller taped wire-end ferrules (WEF) with plastic col-
lars:

2.3 Safety equipment
The machine is equipped with the following safety features:
– Protective cover with safety switch
– Mains plug
These safety features must not be rendered inoperative.
They must be checked by a service technician once a year.
If necessary to complete service work, the housing of the
machine may be removed by service personnel. Before the
housing is removed, the machine must be switched off and
disconnected from the power grid. The machine may not
be connected to the power grid without the housing.

2.4 Personnel

Only trained personnel may operate the machine and carry
out maintenance work. They must also have read the oper-
ating instructions in their entirety.
Repairs may only be carried out after consul-
tation with Weidmüller Service and only by a
qualified electrician.
Please keep the operating instructions where
they can be viewed by the operating personnel
at all times.
