ADJUSTMENT OF PINCH RECIPROCATING LEVER

Remove the cassette housing, and get the pinch sole-
noid attracted.
Note:
Move the eject lever to lock the cassette housing, and
turn on the cassette switch to do the checking.
Slightly loosen the screw at the pinch reciprocating
amount adjust lever to allow this lever to move to
right and left lightly.
Insert a bladed screwdriver between the pressure lever
and pinch reciprocating amount adjust lever, and
adjust so that there is a clearance of 0.5 to 1.0 mm be-
tween the play idler lever and pinch reciprocating
lever.
Retighten the screw at the pinch reciprocating amount
adjust lever, and apply screw-lock thereon.

Remove the cassette housing, set the power switch to
ON position and use a vinyl tape (black) to cover the
light receiving cells of the photo detector (the end
sensor and start sensor) to close off light from enter-
ing.
Turn on the cassette switch, let down the erase protec-
tion lever and push the record button to get the unit
in REC mode,
When the loading is complete, check that there is a
clearance of 0.5 to 1.0 mm between the pinch recipro-
cating lever and play idler lever.
Push the pause button to get the unit in PAUSE mode,
then check that the play idler is off the reel disk.
