® Video Search Circuit
When the VS button is pushed during PLAY mode, the
video search circuit provides mainly the following two func-
tions.
1. Block Diagram

PAUSE/STILL
The safety circuit is just allowed to work while the unit
is operating in PLAY mode (with PB signal at "high"
level but without the PAUSE/STILL button pushed),
during which it is possible to push the VS button to
introduce the VS signal in the video search circuit.
2. Safety circuit
The video search operation is possible just when the
unit is in PLAY mode, but impossible when it is in
PAUSE (PLAY STILL) mode or the tape is being
PAUSE/STILL O

. Keeps up the stready tape speed (5 times faster than
that in PLAY mode).
. Adds FV (false sync pulse) signal to the output video
signal.

When the VS button is now pushed, the VS output
becomes "'high"' level so that the capstan motor rotates
at the speed 5 times faster than that in PLAY mode,
the audio signal is muted, and FV signal is caused to
mix with the video signal.
