Compressor bases:
Check the vibration base for damage.

Paint protectors:
Check that the paint protectors on the screw connections for
the Schrader valve caps and valve fastenings are intact. Once
work is complete, replace any paint seals that were broken to
perform the inspections.

3.3 Pipes and connections
Perform a visual inspection.
This can be done during the leakage tightness test using a suit-
able leak detector.
If the components are insulated, the insulation must be cut
open in a suitable location. Once the inspection is complete, re-
attach the insulation correctly.
Take particular care when inspecting the pipes connected to
the compressor.
The connection points must have no cracks, corrosion or unu-
sual discolouration. Discolouration caused by the soldering
process is normal and thus harmless.
In addition, the pipes must not have any kinks or other – non-
standard – bends.
NOTE
A detailed overview of the connections to be inspected is
provided in the appendix under "Inspection items for pipes"
Check that the evaporator's refrigerant distributor (Venturi
manifold) has been securely fitted. The individual injection cap-
illaries must not exhibit any damage such as chafe marks. There
must be no damage to the abrasion guard (insulation material).
