W hen not in use, attach the blade cover onto
the blade. Remove the cover before operation.
Kickback (Blade thrust)
1.
Kickback (blade thrust) is a sudden reaction
to a caught or bound cutting blade. Once it
occurs, the tool is thro w n side w ay or to w ard
the operator at great force and it may cause
serious injury.
Kickback occurs particularly w hen applying
2.
the blade segment bet w een 12 and 2 o ' clock
to solids, bushes and trees w ith 3 cm or larger
diameter.

To avoid kickback:
1.
Apply the segment betw een 8 and 11 o' clock.
2.
Never apply the segment bet w een 12 and
2 o ' clock.
3.
Never apply the segment bet w een 11 and
12 o ' clock and bet w een 2 and 5 o ' clock,
unless the operator is w ell trained and
experienced and does it at his/her o w n
risk.
4 .
Never use cutting blades close to solids,
such as fences, w alls, tree trunks and
stones.
5.
Never use cutting blades vertically, for
such operations as edging and trimming
hedges.

Vibration
People w ith poor circulation w ho are exposed

to blood vessels or the nervous system.

To reduce the risk of white finger disease ,
keep your hands w arm during operation and
w ell maintain the tool and accessories.

Transport

1.
Before transporting the tool, turn it off and
remove the battery cartridge. Attach the cover
to the cutting blade.
2.
W hen transporting the tool, carry it in a hori-
z ontal position by holding the shaft.
3.
W hen transporting the tool in a vehicle, prop-
erly secure it to avoid turnover. O t h e r w i s e
d a m a g e t o t h e t o o l a n d o t h e r b a g g a g e m a y r e s u l t .
Maintenance
1.
Have your tool serviced by our authori z ed
service center, al w ays using only genuine
replacement parts. I n c o r r e c t r e p a i r a n d p o o r
m a i n t e n a n c e c a n s h o r t e n t h e l i f e o f t h e t o o l a n d
i n c r e a s e t h e r i s k o f a c c i d e n t s .
Before doing any maintenance or repair w ork

the cutting blade.

Always clean dust and dirt off the tool. Never
use gasoline, ben z ine, thinner, alcohol or the

After each use, tighten all scre w s and nuts.

Do not attempt any maintenance or repair not
described in the instruction manual. Ask our
authori z ed service center for such w ork.

10. Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and
grease. Keep all cooling air inlets clear of
debris.

Do not w ash the tool w ith high pressure w ater.
12. W hen w ashing the tool, do not let w ater enter
the electrical mechanism such as battery,
motor, and terminals.
13. W hen storing the tool, avoid direct sunlight
and rain, and store it in a place w here it does
not get hot or humid.
1 4 . Perform inspection or maintenance in a place
w here rain can be avoided.
15. After using the tool, remove the adhered dirt
and dry the tool completely before storing.

Storage
Before storing the tool, perform full cleaning
