7. Installation and connection

Ensure that the connection cables are not kinked or squashed. This can cause mal-
functions, short circuits and device defects. Ensure that no cables or wires are dam-
aged when drilling holes or tightening screws.
Do not connect the cables when the product is connected to a power supply.
The code lock can be mounted on the wall or any
other surface using two openings.
Secure the code lock with suitable screws and, if
necessary, suitable dowels.
The ground connection on the back must be con-
nected to the house grounding.
The package includes two special screws and a
matching screwdriver bit. The screw head shape
provides extra protection against attempted ma-
nipulations.
The light sensor on the back should be in the dark
after installation. Therefore, make sure the code
lock is not installed on transparent surfaces (e.g.
acrylic glass).
If the light sensor is exposed to light
beams, button operation is disabled.
The connection cables must be connected cor-
rectly. Connection of individual cables can be
found in the previous section.
The stabilised operating voltage is connected to
the red wire (12–24 V/DC, plus/+) and black wire
(GND/-).
The normally open contact (NO+COM) or normally closed contact (NC+COM) of the relay
changeover contact should be used depending on the door lock used ("fail-safe" or "fail-secure",
see section 6).
