Electrical connection

The machine is installed and ready to operate. Please verify if the type of current, voltage and
protection fuse correspond to the values specified. A protective earth ground wire connection
must be available. Main Fuse 10 to 16A.
CAUTION!
Position the power lead for the machine in such a manner that people cannot trip over it.

Warming up the machine

ATTENTION!
If the bench drilling machine and in particular the drilling spindle is immediately
operated at maximum load when it is cold it may result in damages.
If the machine is cold such as e.g. directly after having transported the machine it should be
warmed up at a spindle speed of only 500 1/min for the first 30 minutes.

First commissioning

WARNING!
The machine may only be commissioned after proper installation.
If the drilling machine is initially operated by inexperienced personnel, you endanger
both people and the equipment. We do not accept any liability for damages caused by
incorrectly performed commissioning.
ATTENTION!
Before commissioning the machine check all screws, fixtures resp. safety devices and
tighten up the screws if necessary!
Thoroughly read the operating instructions before commissioning the bench drill. They allow a
safe commissioning of the machine. Follow the safety instructions of the operating manual.
Before commissioning the spindle, please make sure that all loose parts, assembly tools and
measuring instruments had been removed from the machine.
Mount and install the machine. Connect it to the mains and perform a test run. This also helps
to run in the mechanic components of the machine before the first machining.
Please proceed as follows (only for B16HV):

Position the V-belt at the level for the highest spindle speed on the belt drive.

Turn the potentiometer for the motor speed to the left to the
minimum value.

Start the machine.

Turn the potentiometer as far right as the spindle speed of about
2000 1/min is achieved and allow the machine to turn idle for about 10 minutes.

Repeat the running-in period of 10 minutes at about 4500 1/min.

Repeat the running-in period of 10 minutes at about 6000 1/min.
