3. Acquiring PANO Images
Laser Beam Aligning
Before taking an X-ray, the patient's position must be aligned with four laser beams for
accurate scanning:
Mispositioning beams can create ghosts or size distortions in the captured images.
Follow the procedure below to place laser beams in their correct positions:
Vertical Beam / Mid-sagittal Line
Horizontal Beam / Frankfurt Line
Position the Vertical Beam to the center of the patient's face. Ensure that the

beam shines along the mid-sagittal line (see the picture). This step helps prevent
the image's horizontal expansion.
Position the Horizontal Beam to the Frankfurt Line of the patient's face. Press

the Laser UP or Laser Down button on the control panel to change the beam's
position.
Position the Canine Teeth Beam to the center of the Canine tooth of the patient.

Ask the patient to smile to find the correct center. Turn the beam lever left to right
to change the beam's position.

Check whether the Horizontal Beam for the shoulders ("Shoulder Beam")
