Parametering the BIS C-60_3 processor

The parameters for operating the BIS C-60_3 Processor are stored in the BIS Config Object
(class 64 ) and in the BIS R/W Object (class 65
Hex
explicit messages.
A widely used tool for DeviceNet parametering is the Windows software RS NetWorx from
Rockwell Automation. The device parametering is therefore explained by example using this
software. For information on the RS NetWorx software and installation, please refer to the RS
NetWorx manual. The access path (class → instance → attribute) to each parameter is also
indicated, so that direct access to each parameter is possible via explicit message.
The BIS C-60_3 Processor is parametered withing the projecting of the overall DeviceNet bus
system. This generally consists of a DeviceNet Master and several DeviceNet nodes. For
infomation on creating a project, please refer to the RS NetWorx manual.
Each BIS C-60_3 Processor is shipped with a diskette containing the EDS file (EDS =
electronic data sheet). The EDS file contains all the device parameters for the BIS C-60_3
Processor and is installed in the EDS library of RS NetWorx.
To do this, start RS NetWorx. Under the Tools menu select → EDS Wizard and follow the
installation instructions.
Function Description
Parametering the BIS C-60_3 processor
The system can be parametered online or offline. In offline parametering, the desired devices
are drag&dropped from the hardware list to the network window and then configured. For
online projecting, the Network → Online menu is searched and the found devices displayed. In
both cases the parametering is
done by double-clicking on the
device to be parametered, here the
BIS C-60_3. This opens the
window for configuring the device.
Clicking on Parameters opens the
window for the device parameters.
The settings and values shown
under Current Value indicate the
factory settings when beginning
the parametering.
Once you have set a parameter,
the [ Apply ] button is active and
you can use it to apply the
settings.
The [ OK ] button ends the
parametering.
