6.3.5 SSI-Special bits
6.3.5.1 Parity even
The parity bit serves as control bit for the error detection during SSI data
transmissions.
The parity represents the checksum of the bits in the SSI data word. If the SSI data
word contains an odd number of "1", the special bit Parity even = "1" and
supplements the checksum to even parity. The Parity special bit is always defined at
the last digit of the position output. It is calculated from all previous bits. About that,
only one single Parity special bit is possible.
6.3.5.2 Parity odd
The parity bit serves as control bit for the error detection during SSI data
transmissions.
The parity represents the checksum of the bits in the SSI data word. If the SSI data
word contains an even number of "1", the special bit Parity odd = "1" and
supplements the checksum to odd parity. The Parity special bit is always defined at
the last digit of the position output. It is calculated from all previous bits. About that,
only one single Parity special bit is possible.
