7. If necessary, adjust the angle:
While the appliance heats up, you can adjust the bottom plate's angle with the
tilt lever (J). Your can operate your appliance completely flat („FLAT") or tilt it
slightly to the back („ANGLE"). The lever is at the back right side of the grill.
Note to the ideal angle:
If the bottom hot plate is tilted, meaning the lever is set to „ANGLE", fat from
fatty foods like f.e. meat can easily drain into the grease drip tray.
If the bottom hot plate is flat, meaning the lever is set to „FLAT", foods like eggs,
pancakes, bread or fatless foods can be ideally prepared.
Fat or juice drains through the opening in both hot plates into the grease drip
tray.
8. Pre-heating phase is completed:
A signal will sound and the HEATING notice will
disappear once the grill has reached the set
temperature. The LCD screen will display the set
temperature and „0" for the time setting.
Note: Always let your grill heat up to the set
temperature before placing foods on the grill.
This means you have to wait for the HEATING
notice to disappear from the display.
Note: The HEATING notice might flash during grilling. This is normal and sim-
ply indicates that the set temperature is constantly being kept.
9. How to open the hot plates:
a) Wait for the hot plates to completely heat up and the HEATING notice to dis-
appear.
b) Check if the upper hot plate is closed, meaning it's ly-
ing evenly on the bottom one, and ensure that the lever
for opening and closing the hot plates (L) is set to
„OPEN".
c) Lift the upper hot plate so that it is at a 90° angle to the lower hot plate
10. Placing grillables on the grill:
Place the grillables on the lower hot plate.
Note: When making toasts or sandwiches in the „PANINI" setting, please regard
the following tips:
Place the sandwich / the toast in the middle of the lower hot plate. The toast-
ing should take 5 to 8 minutes. The exact time depends on personal preference
and the kind of bread resp. the filling. For more tips, please refer to the chap-
ter „Tips for best grilling" on p. 121 and the recipes.
