3.5 Functioning of the brakes

The bicycle is equipped with hand brakes.
" " Depending on your bike, either the left
DANGER
or right brake lever operates the front brake.
Check this before use.
" " When braking hard never use only the
DANGER
front brake, but always use both brake levers.
If you use only the front brake, the front wheel
can come to a quick stop, which could lead to you
falling.
" " The brake systems are of the hydraulic
DANGER
rim brake type. These brakes provide very
powerful braking.
Avoid blocking the wheels!

To use the hand brakes:

Use both brake levers progressively to brake.
If you notice a reduction in the stopping power of your brakes,
consult your Gazelle service specialist immediately.
Maintenance and any repairs of this brake system are specialist
jobs which can only be done properly by a specialist.
