6.2 Identifying and solving problems

Problem
The pedal assistance does not
start.
The battery empties quickly.

The bike does not brake well.
The speed is not displayed.
Problem
System errors and warnings are indicated by the LED indicator lights of the battery via different light patterns.
System error:

Cause
The battery is empty.

The plug pins are insufficiently greased.
The charging capacity of the battery
has decreased.
The brakes are not adjusted correctly or
are worn.
It is possible that the speed sensor has
not been properly adjusted
Cause
There is a communication error in the
bike system.
If the temperature exceeds the permit-
ted value, the battery is switched off.
This is indicated if an original drive unit
has not been connected This is indi-
cated if one of the cables is discon-
nected.
Remedy
Charge the battery. See section 3.4.2 (page 30).
Contact a Gazelle service specialist to check
whether this is the cause.
Replace the battery . Contact a Gazelle service

specialist.
Replace or check the brakes. Contact a Gazelle ser-
vice specialist.
Contact a Gazelle service specialist.
Remedy
Check whether the cable is loose or incorrectly con-
nected.
Leave the battery in a cool place away from direct
sunlight to cool off until the battery temperature has
sufficiently reduced.
Connect an original battery and drive unit.
Check the condition of the cables.
