6.1 Safety

carrying out any repairs.
Before carrying out any repairs take the following into consid-
eration:
•
Repairs to the bike may only be carried out by an author-
ised Gazelle service specialist.
•
Do not make any modifications to the drive unit. Also do not
fit any other products aimed at increasing the speed and/or
power output of the drive unit. As a rule, you will shorten the
service life of the system and risk damaging the bike.
In addition, there is also the danger that you will void the
warranty cover on the bike you have bought. Furthermore,
as a result of inexpert work on the system you will jeopard-
ise your safety and that of other road users. This risks acci-
dents caused by manipulations, high personal liability costs
and potentially even the danger of criminal prosecution.
•
Do not open the components of your bike, such as the
drive unit, yourself. The bike may only be repaired by quali-
fied professionals and only with original spare parts. In this
way, you ensure the safety of the bike. Unauthorised open-
ing of the bike will render any warranty claims null and void.

All components fitted to the drive unit and other bike com-
ponents must only be replaced by components of identical
construction or by components specially approved by the
