3.15 REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE, FAULT RECTIFICATION
•
Have the prescribed setting, maintenance and inspection work carried out punctually by
GCE or a specialist enterprises authorised by GCE.
•
Inform operating personnel and users before beginning maintenance and inspection work.
•
Secure all operating media required for controlling the pressure unit or upstream and
downstream of the plant, such as compressed air and hydraulic system, against inadvertent
startup.
•
For all repair, maintenance and inspection work, de-energize the relevant operating media
and secure the master switch against being actuated unexpectedly.
•
Lock the master switch and remove the key.
•
Attach a sign warning against switching on.

Check loosened threaded joints for good fit.
•
After the maintenance has been completed, check safety equipment for function.
NO BACK PRESSURE
Possible causes / Remedy.
1.
First pressure stage not in operation / Start first pressure stage.
2.
Preliminary shut-off valve closed / Open preliminary shut-off valve.
3.
Pressure reducer defective / Inform GCE Customer Service.
BACK PRESSURE RISES WITH SLIGHT BLEEDING
Possible causes / Remedy:
Fit of EMD 400 not tight / Inform GCE Customer Service.

3.16 STORAGE, TRANSPORT

All parts must be stored in a clean-packed, dust free, dry and well-sealed condition. Use only suitable
packing. Do not use cleaning agents containing solvents!
Before returning product to the manufacturer, it is essential that all components which
were in contact with corrosive or toxic gases are flushed with inert gas.
3.17 STRUCTURAL MODIFICATIONS TO THE PRESSURE UNIT
•
Do not carry out any changes, additions or modifications to the pressure unit without the
written approval of the manufacturer.
•
Use only genuine GCE replacement and wearing parts.
3.18 CLEANING THE GAS DEVICES AND DISPOSING OF THE RESIDUES
•
Flush used gas devices awaiting repair with an inert gas (nitrogen, argon). Handle and
dispose of fixed gas residues properly. In particular, do not contaminate with oily cloths or
lubricants. Do not clean with solvents.
3.19 NOISE
In some cases, the unfavourable interaction of certain variables such as flow rate and pressure range
as well as the type of gas may gene rate noise. Please contact the manufacturer in such cases.
