INSTALLATION /OPERATION PRESSURE REGULATOR
EMD 400
The EMD 400 allows you to set the working pressure for a certain consumer. This is done
independently of other consumers connected up to the central gas supply.
The bleed pressure reducer can be supplemented by an input-side shutoff valve and/or an
outputside control valve.
Disconnect pressure source before disassembling! Toxic, corrosive or flammable gases
have to be purged out before disassembly in order to avoid injuries of the operater.
Fire-, explosion- or intoxication hazard!

5.1 INSTALLING THE BLEED PRESSURE REDUCER
Check the colour code on the handwheel and the gas type and back pressure on the
rating plate.
Only install the bleed pressure reducer if the colour code, gas type and back pressure
meet your requirements!
5.1.1 INSTALLATION ON THE WALL ADAPTER WITH G 3/8" EXTERNAL SCREW
THREAD
Tighten
Tool: open-end wrench SW 36 (accessories).
Parts: seal 14 x 9 x 2 mm (accessories).
Installation procedure:
Loosen
Centralize the seal using the pin on the external
screw thread.
Place the seal on the pin of the wall adapter.
Screw the EMD 400 onto the threaded
connection by hand. Keep the pressure reducer
at an angle of 45° in front of the desired position.
Tighten the lockable quick-fitting coupling with
the open-end wrench. To do this, use only the
open-end wrench SW 36 (order no. H 11006002)
which is available as an accessory.
As the tightening torque increases, the
pressure reducer is rotated as well. Tighten the
quick coupling until the pressure reducer reaches its desired position. This will give a gas-tight
connection.
With C
H
use only wall adapter and pipelines made from special steel.
