Aligning the setting device in relation to the
driving axis
– Position and lock the setting device in place on the rail so that it
is situated centrally in front of the ACC sensor (see illustration).
To do so, first pull the locking lever on the right-hand carry handle
to release the clamp. Now place the setting device precisely on
the rail with the clamp open. Release the lever once more to fix
the setting device in place on the rail.
– Ensure that the setting device is mounted correctly on the rail.
In addition, ensure that the mirror is set to the centre position
of the tilting device (see diagram, Item 1).

2
– Align the setting device using the vertical adjusting mechanism.
To do so, turn the knurled screw (diagram, Item 2) and check
the alignment using the spirit level which is attached to the
reflector (diagram, Item 3).
– Set the setting device to the horizontal (H) and vertical (V) mirror-
adjustment values displayed by the self-diagnosis tester.
The mirror is now aligned in relation to the driving axis of the
vehicle to be tested (precondition for performing basic
visual sensor setting).

– Unscrew the locking screw on the coarse setting device. Next, push
the coarse setting device onto the ACC sensor (see diagram). Take
care to ensure that the top and the left and right sides of the coarse
setting device all lie flush against the ACC sensor.
– Fasten the coarse setting device firmly to the ACC sensor. To
do so, re-tighten the locking screw on the coarse setting device
slightly.
– Switch on the laser.
1
– Adjust the ACC sensor horizontally and/or vertically in such a
way that the projection point of the laser beam is reflected as
close as possible to the source of the beam / outlet aperture
(approx. 1 cm).

2.
– Once adjustment is complete, switch the laser off again.
– Unscrew the locking screw of the coarse setting device and
remove the device from the ACC sensor.

Subsequent test procedure is described in the self-diagnosis
tester.
