6.3.1 Positioning the mirror horizontally
– Switch on the laser.
Never look directly at the source of the
beam!
– Unscrew the setscrew of the horizontal positioning device.
Move the mirror until the laser beam is reflected onto the vertical
line on the projection surface of the wheel laser.
– Once the mirror is correctly positioned, fix the positioning
device in place once more using the setscrew.
– Read the value of the horizontal position on the "H" scale and
enter this value in the self-diagnosis tester.

6.3.2 Positioning the mirror vertically
– Place the slotted cover on the floor directly in front of the wheel
laser (see diagram).

– Unscrew the setscrew of the height-adjustable cover and
move the latter until the laser beam passes through the centre
of the slot. Next, fix the cover in place once more with the
setscrew.
– Now place the slotted cover on the floor at the same height as
the front wheel.

– Release the setscrew of the Universal quick-change clamp and
align the wheel laser in such a way that the laser beam passes
through the centre of the slot in the cover. Fix the wheel laser
in place once more using the locking screw.
– Using the knurled screw, move the mirror vertically until the
laser beam is reflected onto the projection surface of the wheel
laser as close as possible to the outlet aperture.
– Read the value of the vertical position on the "V" scale and enter
this value in the self-diagnosis tester.

– Switch the wheel laser off again.
– Unscrew the setscrew of the Universal quick-change clamp
and remove the wheel laser from the clamp holder socket. After
this, remove the Universal quick-change clamp from the rear
wheel.
– Take the setting device off the rail. To do so, pull the locking
lever on the right-hand carry handle. This releases the clamp,
so that the setting device can easily be removed from the rail.
6.4

Aligning the setting device, right side

i The setting device is aligned in relation to the right-hand side
of the vehicle in the same way as for the left-hand side.
